Above the Blue and Green Earth

Sit or lie quietly with your eyes closed and your spine straight. Take three quick breaths, inhaling and exhaling through your nose. Take three deep, long breaths inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. Feel your lungs expanding with each deep breath. Slowly allow your breath to return to its normal rhythm, and begin to relax your physical body. Beginning at your toes, work your way to the top of your head telling each area of your body to completely relax. Once again, begin at your toes and slowly bring warm, comforting energy up your body all the way to the top of your head. While the body continues to relax, instruct any thought that enters your mind to float by as you continue to feel more and more comfortable and calm. From this peaceful place, allow yourself to float up above your body. Spend a few moments feeling free and light.

Visualize yourself floating a few feet above the ground, then float higher above the treetops. As you continue to relax, you feel weightless and safe as you float high above the Earth. There are a few white clouds in the sky below, but everything is very clear and you can see the blue oceans and the green forests of the Earth. As you watch the Earth slowly turn, the picture changes slightly, but the fascinating color interaction continues. You watch for a few moments as the blue and green change places. When you are finished watching this beautiful image, gently float back down through the clouds. Become more aware of your physical body, and slowly begin to breathe more deeply. Feel the beat of your heart and the expansion of your lungs. When you're ready, move your toes, your fingers, and gently stretch your spine. When you feel more aware of your physical surroundings, slowly open your eyes, bringing the peace and relaxation you just enjoyed with you into the present moment.
